During the 1770's King George was a good Christian king, yet the Colonies rebelled. Why would a Christian culture rebel against a Christian king? Because his actual behavior differed from his purported faith and the Colonists suffered greatly. As a self-styled Christian nation today, one would hope our actions toward our citizens and other nations would match the beliefs.
The creation of the United States included foundational structures from the Code of Hammurabi, Greek, Roman, Napoleonic, and Britain's common law history. America drew from a variety of traditions, including Christianity, to craft our freedoms and the social contributions of atheists, agnostics, Jews, Buddhists, Jains, Rastafarians, Wiccans, Hindi, Muslims, Native Americans, and dozens of other traditions continue to have a strong influence on what makes America today. America is a polytheistic nation.
A crow or raven?
The label does not matter.
Do we love others?
