A New Year's Resolution for the "seeker"....

The best recommendation is to step back from all cultural traditions and what other people, even people you respect deeply, tell you is the “truth” and then explore on your own. There are many good-hearted and caring people who will earnestly express how they’ve found the truth and with great concern want you to join them. Others will point out historical antecedents or provide countless testimonies on a particular faith tradition.

Life is an experiential journey. The word “water” will not get you wet nor will the description of a papaya’s flavor mean anything until you taste it yourself. Learn about faith traditions with openness and then make up your own mind as to what resonates with your own heart.
