I imagine some doctors need the income and if you wish to support them, then the choice is yours. However, if you believe that cosmetic nips-and-tucks will somehow ward off the inevitable then you are deep in your delusion that life’s changes don’t apply to you.
Along your life’s journey, you’ll grow hair where you never had it and lose hair where you did. Your belly and cheeks will sag and wrinkles will caress your face.
From a Zen Buddhist perspective, rather than apply impermanent and unnecessary surgery to satisfy one’s vanity, one would honor the changes of existence and focus on compassion and service regardless of one’s physical appearance. It is better to live in each moment with peaceful equanimity than try to live in an illusion.
