Recently, I ate a “Cheeseburger in Paradise” at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Restaurant. It was quite a rapturous moment and during the meal all was right with the world. That is not a flippant comment because when one is truly living in the present moment with no regrets about the past and no anticipation – good or bad – about the future, then one realizes the present moment is all we really have and all we can truly be sure of.
From that reference point, we can go forward and serve others honestly and freely because we are not hung up in our delusions of fears or hopes. When we savor each and every moment fully, we can compassionately help others along the way and experience a blissful existence today.
The sound of a bird
Singing up the sun with joy
Is heaven on earth.
